Within Tasmania, it is an offence to:

- Possess equipment for administration of prohibited drugs
- Self administer prohibited drugs or allow another to administer drugs to you.
Manufacture/Trafficking
It is an offence to manufacture or traffic amphetamines, cocaine or MDMA in Tasmania or to possess many of the items and substances required in the production of these substances.
Trafiicable quantities
In Tasmania, 25 grams of any substance is considered a trafficable quantity.
This is 25 grams of amphetamines, cocaine or MDMA.
Penalties
The maximum penalty for possession of cocaine, amphetamines or MDMA in Tasmania is $6,000 or 2 years imprisonment.
If found guilty of selling or supplying any of these drugs the maximum penalty is $12,000 or 4 years imprisonment.
The maximum penalty for trafficking of cocaine, amphetamines or MDMA is 21 years imprisonment.
